Job description

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices, as well as retail customers.

Pharmacy Services & Delivery is responsible for the prompt and accurate delivery and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or oncology pharmaceuticals to medical care providers in accordance with customer demand and route requirements. Responsibilities include preparing doses for shipment, preparing cases, wiping doses, and loading and unloading containers following safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Pay rate : $17.00 per hour (includes shift differential)

Interested candidates should submit applications promptly. The position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shift start times between 4:00 am and 7:45 am. Schedule details will be provided in advance. The role includes working a weekend every 4-6 weeks, some holidays, and on-call duties approximately once every 2 months. Flexibility for on-call work during weekdays is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing and delivering to customer accounts using a non-CDL company vehicle
  2. Packaging radiopharmaceutical medication, performing testing, and handling containers
  3. Using a handheld device for order accuracy, routing, and navigation
  4. Processing returned packages
  5. Vehicle maintenance and minor roadside repairs
  6. General facility cleaning and other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Delivery experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Comfort driving in all weather conditions, day or night
  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate a vehicle for extended periods
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Flexibility for various shifts and overtime
  • Proficiency with computers and tablets
  • Covid-19 vaccination or approved accommodation is required

Additional skills include applying knowledge to routine tasks, quick learning, maintaining necessary licenses and certifications, and working within standard procedures. The role involves moderate supervision with regular review of output and referral of complex issues to supervisors.
