Job Description

Make deliveries to customers using a company-provided or rental vehicle. Maintain records of deliveries, inspect and maintain delivery vehicles, and provide customer service on order and delivery issues. This position requires operation of a company or rental vehicle, with ongoing monitoring of Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs). A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR status are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience delivering merchandise using a box truck or similar vehicle.
• 1+ years of experience operating material handling equipment.
• No more than 2 minor accidents and 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Wholesale distribution experience.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Deliver customer orders safely within a service area, including interfacing with customers on order issues.
• Load inventory into trucks and unload orders at customer sites using powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
• Review order manifests for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections according to DOT regulations and internal policies.
• Maintain contact with the distribution center regarding delivery interruptions.
• Prepare and maintain vehicle and order records.
• Update customers on delivery statuses.
• Provide feedback on customer service and sales issues.

Work Environment

• Typically in a comfortable environment but with exposure to factors like temperature extremes, machinery, noise, and fumes.
• Requires physical exertion such as walking, standing, lifting (50+ pounds), and maneuvering equipment.
• Overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education And Experience

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Generally 2-5 years of relevant experience.
