Job summary

Tools & Accessories Corp in Maryland seeks a full-time delivery driver to transport construction supplies to customer offices and job sites. Routes run Monday–Friday, typically 6:30 AM–4:30 PM, with overtime opportunities and no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds while demonstrating safety techniques.
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in small spaces.
  • Valid Driver's License with no moving violations in last 3 years.
  • Minimum 2 years' commercial driving experience and deliveries.
  • Must have current DOT Physical Card or pass a standard DOT Physical.
  • Must always secure your load and have experience & knowledge of proper techniques.
  • Read maps & GPS tracking to determine routes.

Responsibilities

  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Inspect and maintain the vehicle's supplies and equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with the vehicle.
  • Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
  • Load and unload goods daily.
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs and cargo records in accordance with regulations.
  • Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic situations to bases or other vehicles.
  • Check in with customers by phone or text at each designated account to announce arrival and serve as company liaison.

Job description

  • This is a Full-Time position with opportunities for overtime pay.
  • The hours for this position may vary but are typically Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with no evenings or weekends.
  • The successful candidate will drive a light duty box or flatbed vehicle, such as a truck or van, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), to deliver construction supplies to customers' offices or job sites.
  • Daily routes will be assigned, and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering all goods on their route.
What You'll Do
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for obeying traffic laws and following established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • They will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the vehicle's supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that the vehicle is in proper working condition.
  • The successful candidate will report any mechanical problems encountered with the vehicle.
  • They will present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
  • They will be responsible for loading and unloading goods daily.
  • The successful candidate will verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • They will turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
  • The successful candidate will maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
  • They will read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
  • The successful candidate will report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
  • They will check in with customers either by phone or text at each designated account to announce arrival and serve as company liaison for the customer.
