Job summary

Scheels is hiring a Delivery Associate in Overland Park, KS. You will load, deliver, and assemble merchandise, ensuring safe handling and respectful service at customers’ homes.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, DOT driving standards, and a high school diploma or GED. Flexible schedule (roughly 9a–9p, Mon–Sat) with weekend availability; average 40 hours. ESOP and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be an approved driver through DOT.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and accuracy during loading and transport of merchandise to prevent damage to products and customers' homes.
• Assemble, service, and deliver customer and store merchandise, including exercise machines, trampolines, grills, furniture, and more.
• Troubleshoot and respond to customer delivery and equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate records for the store, customer equipment, and delivery trucks.
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance of trucks and delivery area.
• Read and interpret safety rules and manuals; exceptional problem-solving for assembly and delivery issues.
• Be respectful of the customer’s home and property during delivery.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently assemble, service, and deliver customer and store merchandise. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise machines, trampolines, basketball hoops, grills, furniture, game tables, bicycles, and other Scheels merchandise
• Troubleshoot and respond to customer delivery and equipment issues
• Maintain accurate and detailed records for the store, customer equipment, and delivery trucks
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance of the Scheels delivery trucks and the delivery area in your store
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly and delivery issues
• Be respectful of the customer’s home and property throughout the delivery process
• All other duties as assigned

Compensation

Earn $20.00 per hour plus GREAT Associate Discount on all in store purchases.

Schedule

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of every other weekend or 2 weekends a month. Average hours per week is40hours.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be an approved driver through DOT (DOT may not apply to all store locations) and Scheels Driving Standards, and be at least 21 years of age. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree(GED), one to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
