Job summary

Scheels is hiring a delivery team member in Meridian, ID to load, transport and deliver merchandise to customers. You will assemble items, troubleshoot issues, and maintain records while upholding Scheels’ safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a clean driver's license, DOT approval if required, and a high school diploma or GED; the role includes an ESOP and comprehensive benefits, with opportunities for professional growth in a customer‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Clean, valid driver’s license and be approved through DOT where applicable.
• High School Diploma or GED, 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent.
• Strong reading and comprehension of safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Load and deliver Scheels merchandise safely to customers.
• Assemble and service merchandise (e.g., exercise equipment, grills, furniture).
• Troubleshoot delivery issues and maintain records for store and customers.
• Maintain clean and professional delivery trucks and areas.
• Follow safety procedures and read and interpret safety docs and manuals.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain safety and accuracy during the loading and transport of merchandise to prevent damage to the products and customers' homes
• Efficiently assemble, service, and deliver customer and store merchandise. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise machines, trampolines, basketball hoops, grills, furniture, game tables, bicycles, and other Scheels merchandise
• Troubleshoot and respond to customer delivery and equipment issues
• Maintain accurate and detailed records for the store, customer equipment, and delivery trucks
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance of the Scheels delivery trucks and the delivery area in your store
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly and delivery issues
• Be respectful of the customer’s home and property throughout the delivery process
• All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be an approved driver through DOT (DOT may not apply to all store locations) and Scheels Driving Standards, and be at least 21 years of age. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree(GED), one to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
