Job summary

Tindell's is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver to join our East Tennessee team. You will operate semi-trucks and roll-off trailers to move lumber, trusses and building materials to job sites, while upholding safety and on-time delivery.

We offer $18/hour with weekly pay, paid time off, and a 401(k). Qualifications include a valid CDL with a DOT fitness, and the ability to load/unload heavy materials and work as part of a fast-paced crew.

Qualifications

• 6+ months truck driving experience preferred (lumber hauling and oversized loads a plus).
• Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements; ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lumber trusses and building materials to job sites using semis or rollback trucks.
• Safely handle over-width/over-length loads per DOT guidelines and escort requirements.
• Unload materials with forklifts, dollies, and manual equipment while delivering customer service on site.
• Inspect and maintain delivery rig and assist yard teams with loading/unloading; manage inventory between runs.
• Communicate on-site feedback and job updates to the material management team.

What You'll Do

• Precision Hauling: Drive semi-trucks equipped with roll-off stretch trailers (stretching up to 70') or rollback straight trucks to deliver wood trusses and beams directly to job sites.
• Oversized Load Operations: Safely navigate over-width and over-length loads in compliance with all DOT guidelines and escort requirements.
• Hands-On Delivery & Service: Operate forklifts, dollies, and manual equipment to unload building materials-ranging from structural trusses to finish trim-while delivering top-tier customer service on site.
• Yard & Fleet Support: Inspect and maintain your rig, assist yard teams with loading/unloading vehicles, build delivery loads, and handle returned inventory between runs.
• Communication Link: Serve as a direct point of contact on site, relaying customer feedback and job updates back to the material management team.

What We're Looking For

• Driving Experience: At least 6 months of truck driving experience (lumber hauling and oversized load experience preferred).
• Licensing & Compliance: Valid driver's license with a minimum F-Endorsement; ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Physical Readiness: Comfort with hands-on, physical work including manual loading and unloading of heavy materials.
• Mindset: Strong team player with a sense of urgency and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
