Job summary

Halperns’ Steak & Seafood is seeking a Delivery Driver Class A CDL to join our team in Walton, KY. The role requires delivering Halperns’ products, maintaining a professional image, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety and DOT regulations.

Starting pay is $1,250 per week with an overnight trip once a week. Work weeks are 45–55 hours, Monday through Friday, with strong benefits including medical, dental, EFAP, and pre-tax savings plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull product as required.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of Halperns’ products.
• Follow DOT policies and company procedures.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and communicate issues.
• Accurately collect customer payments and safeguard company funds.
• Monitor reefer temperature and report issues promptly.
• Complete daily pre/post trip inspections and manage paperwork.

Position Summary:

Presents a positive image to Halperns’ Steak and Seafood customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of Halperns’ products. Communicates customer issues and concerns. Operates Halperns’ equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of equipment and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.

Essential Functions: see below for level requirements

• Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of Halperns’ products.

• Follows all company and Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and procedures.

• Builds and maintains good customer relationships. Demonstrates self-control.

• Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows Halperns’ banking policies.

• Monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.

• Completes daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.

• Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.

• Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment. Completes check in process accurately and on time. Manages paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc

• Maintains the truck cab and trailer in a clean and organized manner

• Attends department meetings

• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures.

• Must maintain a professional appearance wearing the Halperns’ uniform.

• This position requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment.

• Must be goal oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.

• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of product.
