Job summary

Halperns Steak & Seafood in Orlando, FL is seeking a CDL Driver Class B to deliver Halperns’ products and present a positive image to customers. You will communicate issues and ensure on-time, accurate deliveries with attention to safety and DOT compliance.

The position starts at $46,800 per year with a Monday through Saturday schedule, 5am start, and involves daily pre/post trip inspections, paperwork management, and customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, accurate, timely delivery of Halperns products.
• Follow all company and Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and procedures.
• Builds and maintains good customer relationships.
• Demonstrates self-control.
• Accurately collects customer payments.
• Safeguards company funds and follows Halperns banking policies.
• Monitors reefer temperature and reports issues.
• Completes daily check-ins with no errors.
• Collaborates with management to communicate customer concerns.
• Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Completes check-in process accurately and on time.
• Manages paperwork (register, credits, pick-ups).
• Maintains truck cab and trailer in a clean, organized manner.
• Attends department meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Presents a positive image to Halperns’ Steak and Seafood customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of Halperns’ products. Communicates customer issues and concerns. Operates Halperns’ equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of equipment and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.

Starting Annual Salary: $46,800

Schedule:

Monday through Saturday with one day off during the week 5am start time

Essential Functions:

• Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of Halperns’ products.

• Monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.
• Completes daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.
• Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
• Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Completes check-in process accurately and on time.
• Manages paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc
• Maintains the truck cab and trailer in a clean and organized manner
• Attends department meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures.
• Must maintain a professional appearance wearing the Halperns’ uniform.
• This position requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment.
• Must be goal oriented with a positive “can‑do” attitude.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of product.

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

• Ability to operate a van, straight truck and/or tractor‑trailer CMV as appropriate
• Must be able to operate a dolly with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.
• Uses dollies and other safety equipment to aid in the lifting and carrying of products.
