Job summary

Columbia Distributing seeks a CDL Class A Delivery Driver in Anchorage. You will deliver, unload, and check-in products at customer sites, ensuring accuracy and safety in daily operations.

You will interact with Sales Representatives and Merchandisers, uphold company policies, and maintain strong customer relationships while adhering to DOT and liquor laws. Local travel only and full-time hours with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and current certifications.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months CDL driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, and check-in products at customer accounts.
• Balance invoices and verify payments; ensure paperwork.
• Deliver, unload, and rotate products as needed.
• Maintain strong customer service and relationships with accounts.

CDL Delivery Drivers play a critical role in the day-to-day operations, while interacting with customers, Sales Representatives, and Merchandisers daily to meet the expectations of the business. They are responsible for delivering, unloading and checking in the product to customers each day. Our Drivers are the face of the Company and must provide top notch customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Unloading, loading, and checking-in products at customer accounts
• Balancing invoices, verifying payments, and ensuring applicable paperwork is received
• Work or rotate delivered product when necessary
• Uphold sustainable relationships with customer accounts by providing outstanding consistent customer service
• Adhere to and follow all Company policies, procedures and government regulations including all DOT & state liquor laws and regulations
• Complete Driver assigned duties delivering Company's products in a safe, timely and professional manner
• Inspects the vehicle pre- and post-trip to monitor the maintenance and safety of the vehicle
• Work with all team members on a continual basis to support and evaluate company initiatives

• Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned

Physical Demands

• Use of hand truck, pallet jack, and lift gate.
• Lift/carry and push/pull 35 lbs. repetitively, moving kegs up to 165 lbs.
• Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work vary and may include overtime. This position does not have any overnight or long-haul travel/hours.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Six (6) months previous CDL driving experience
• Previous grocery or retail experience
• Class A Manual Transmission
• Previous grocery, direct-store-delivery (DSD) or retail experience

Compensation

• Employees (and their families) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental and vision insurance after 60 days of continuous employment . Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan after 90 days of continuous employment.
• Employees receive eight paid holidays and one personal day per year and are eligible for 1 week paid vacation following 1 year of continued employment.
