Job summary

Foley Power Solutions in Wichita, KS seeks a skilled Delivery Driver to safely deliver and pick up heavy equipment at customer sites. You will load/unload, inspect vehicles, and communicate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record, understands DOT regulations, and can operate equipment, route plan, and use mobile devices for tracking. Strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Working knowledge of delivery trucks, trailers, and construction/rental equipment.
  • Familiarity with local roads, maps, and routing.
  • Strong understanding and compliance of DOT regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical inspections and small repairs.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and company software.

Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver and pick up heavy equipment at job sites.
  • Load and unload equipment, following safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and verify load specs.
  • Coordinate with customers and dispatch for scheduling.
  • Explain equipment operations and answer customer questions.
  • Inspect equipment pre- and post-delivery for damage or issues.
  • Keep vehicle clean and in good condition.
  • Assist with yard operations as needed.

Job description

We're looking for a skilled, safety-conscious Delivery Driver to join our team.

In this role, you’ll be the face of our company—delivering and picking up heavy equipment at customer sites with professionalism, care, and a commitment to safety.

What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Safely deliver and pick up heavy equipment at job sites.
  • Load and unload equipment, following company and DOT safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, and maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Confirm load height, weight, and route suitability every time for safe and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate and communicate with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth delivery scheduling.
  • Provide helpful answers to equipment-related inquiries and ensure a smooth handoff to sales or management for additional support.
  • Introduce customers to their equipment through demonstrating basic equipment operations and applications, answering customer questions.
  • Inspect equipment pre- and post-delivery, noting any damage or order discrepancies.
  • Keep your vehicle clean and in top condition.
  • Assist with yard operations when needed.

  • Knowledge of construction equipment size, weight, and operation, enabling safe and efficient loading and unloading.
  • Computer experience and the ability to learn new software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual in Spanish and English

Physical & Working Requirements

This role involves physically demanding work in a delivery and equipment handling environment. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:

  • Occasional lifting of heavier items up to 75 pounds
  • Regular lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds, including lifting above shoulder height
  • Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Pushing, pulling, and transporting materials of varying sizes and weights
  • Climbing on, off, and under equipment and maintaining balance while doing so
  • Using hands frequently for handling, gripping, and operating tools or controls
  • Maintaining full range of motion and manual dexterity to safely perform job duties
  • Operating delivery vehicles and driving for extended periods of time
  • Loading, securing, and unloading equipment and materials
  • Working in environments that require close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment
Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements

Final candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment contingent upon successfully completing a post-offer, pre-employment process. This process may include:

  • Drug and alcohol screening (including marijuana, as Foley is a federal contractor and subject to federal requirements)
  • Criminal background check conducted in accordance with applicable laws
  • Verification of a valid driver’s license (and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) DOT physical and medical certification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review to evaluate safe driving history
  • Job-related physical assessment to evaluate ability to safely perform essential job functions
