Job Summary

Supports the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse in providing delivery and warehouse services. Provides delivery of materials to customer sites or branch locations. Provides for regular maintenance of vehicles and schedules DOT/state-mandated inspection visits. Maintains a clean vehicle, daily driver logs, and daily vehicle inspection reports. Completes truck summaries, drivers logs, and other back-end details daily. Loads and unloads material and provides exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Provides delivery of material to Border States branches and customer sites based on business needs.
• Maintains delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition and monitors maintenance and mileage data if required.
• Provides for regular maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, as appropriate.
• Schedules DOT/state mandated inspection visits, as required.
• Maintains daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets.
• Completes truck summaries, driver's logs, and other backup details daily, pays truck expenses, and updates appropriate records, as needed.
• Adheres to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations.
• Understands truck routes and coordinates deliveries with other trucks, freight companies, or carriers based on requests or optimal shipping methods.
• Loads and unloads material at branch and customer locations.
• May perform warehouse functions including order filling, stocking shelves, processing returns, receiving, and shipping.

Non-essential Functions

• Performs or assists with other duties/projects as assigned.
• May conduct Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as part of daily route.
• Checks and packs material for delivery.
• Maintains shipping equipment and keeps work area clean and safe.
• Assists in customer service functions like order entry, filling orders, returns, expediting, and technical assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience preferred.
• Experience with warehouse distribution, forklift operation, and electrical products/systems is preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Current medical certification required.
• Clean driving record essential.
• Working knowledge of PC, Windows, Internet, SAP is a plus.
