Description

Mittera Iowa in Urbandale is seeking a Delivery Driver. Delivery Drivers are responsible for local and long-distance driving company vehicles with a capacity of more than 3 tons to deliver and pick up loads of finished products, goods, materials, and paper stock. A Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is mandatory for all applicants. This ensures drivers possess the necessary qualifications and experience to operate the vehicles safely and in compliance with regulations. The role includes maintaining, cleaning, inspecting, and operating the company truck and van. When not driving, support with shipping/receiving functions is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Load, transport, and deliver items locally or out-of-state safely and timely.
2. Review orders before and after delivery for completeness and condition.
3. Assist with loading and unloading items.
4. Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints.
5. Follow assigned routes and schedules.
6. Adhere to transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
7. Prepare delivery reports and related documents.
8. Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Successful candidates must perform essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class A CDL, 1-3 years of driving experience preferred, a clean driving record, basic math skills, and willingness to follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures. Strong time management and customer service skills are essential.

Physical Requirements

• Use of proper body mechanics for pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity and coordination.
• Near visual acuity.
• Ability to access all facility departments and operate departmental equipment.
• Maintain professionalism under stress.

Work Environment
