Job summary

St. Louis Metro Electric Supply, Inc. is hiring a delivery driver to transport materials to customers in the Ballwin area. Responsibilities include safe driving, loading/unloading, route planning, and obtaining signed receipts. The role requires scanning deliveries, log keeping, and promoting positive customer relations.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour. CDL is not required, but a DOT medical exam must be passed. Steel‑toed boots are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck or van to deliver materials within the specified area.
• Verify loads against shipping papers and obtain signed receipts.
• Scan deliveries into the system before leaving the warehouse and maintain truck logs.
• Determine best routes to ensure timely delivery and record delivery information.
• Inspect and report any deficiencies in truck equipment and supplies.
• Load and unload inventory, operate warehouse equipment, and move items as needed.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations and relay feedback to management.

Overview: Transport materials to customers. Typical Functions: Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within specified area; verify loads against shipping papers; obtain signed receipts for material delivered. Scan each delivery into system before leaving the warehouse; maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations. Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery; record delivery information; inspect truck equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation. Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse, as well as load and unload trucks. Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions; follow all Company safety procedures. May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities. Promote and maintain good customer relations; may promote new sales as opportunities arise. Take an active role in communicating customer feedback to Company management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information, and potential opportunities.
