Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking a Delivery Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of products and clear status updates to Customer Service Representatives and the Delivery Assurance Manager. You will be the main internal contact for customers.

You will coordinate orders through manufacturing, respond to inquiries, and work with operations to maintain schedules and stock. Strong communication and problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; pre-employment assessment if not.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • AA or 2-year college in business, engineering, or materials management with 4 years' aerospace customer service experience.
  • High school diploma with 6 years' aerospace customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external customer orders through manufacturing.
  • Respond to delivery/product inquiries with plant operations, shipping and quality.
  • Engage with Delivery Assurance Manager to identify risks and status.
  • Identify obstacles and resolve impediments; escalate when needed.
  • Improve process flows to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain delivery schedules and communicate status via tools to customers.
  • Collaborate with site operations to ensure stable workflow and stock management.
  • Schedule production using site tools and coordinate with master schedulers.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery clinics to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Update and manage key deliverables and data files.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Delivery Coordinator (Delco) is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of products and to communicate statuses and delivery plans to the Customer Service Representatives and the Delivery Assurance Manager. They are the main point of contact for internal customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and direct internal and externals customer orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Respond to delivery related or product related inquires as needed. This includes direct communication with plant operations, shipping, and quality.
  • Daily engagement the Delivery Assurance Manager to identify delivery risks, barriers and delivery status.
  • Constantly looking to identify obstacles early, actively working to resolve those impediments, and escape when needed.
  • Identify and participate in resolution of process flow routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain delivery schedules to ensure timely completion (horse blankets, LOB, etc.), Communicate clear and timely status' through tools to upstream customers.
  • Work closely with site operations to ensure stable workflow of orders, priorities, and stock management (i.e., stagnant WIP, work order issues, holds). This includes direct communication with the Master Schedulers, Materials Managers and Central Planning Manager.
  • Some sites will require the Delivery Coordinator to schedule production. You will use site scheduling tools to set clear scheduling, adhering to capacity and specific site limitations. With sites that have a master scheduler, work closely to ensure timely release and correct flow of production orders.
  • Identify and direct resolution of process flow routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussion in delivery clinics to identify root cause and prioritized corrective actions.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
  • Update Horse blanket Past due + 4 weeks (need to eventually get out 8 weeks)
  • Responsible for reducing work orders, cut without a cut slip and splitting work orders
  • Responsible for putting jobs on hold. i.e. Details, Hardware, Tools, Material
  • Updating Coverage Files and LOBs
  • Updating BP File/SPI File (Monthly Sales)- Weekly
  • Updating GTG File daily with root cause and current cause.
  • Identify critical parts and make sure they are identified on the shop floor
  • Going out on the shop floor touching jobs and working with supervisors and leads to ensure jobs are moving.
  • Responsible for getting timelines for critical parts when requested by the CSR team. These dates would come from the supervisors in the different areas.
  • Identify bottlenecks and issues and bringing them up to daily OBEYA.
  • DELCO will hand internal company calls along with updating Lean DNA.
  • Scrap and Replace Process for Internal Customers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
  • Background in manufacturing environment and Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college in business, engineering, or materials management required with a minimum of 4 years' customer service experience in aerospace manufacturing or closely related industry.
  • Or, a High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years' customer service experience in aerospace manufacturing or closely related industry

  • Time Management -well organized, possesses the ability to prioritize, maintain focus and follows through to end of projects

  • Capable of Practical Problem Solving and Decision Making using analytical skills
  • Use of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with Access software is desired.
  • Effectively presents information, responds to questions in one-on-one and group environments
  • Proven understanding of process flows, lead-times and lean principles in a manufacturing environment
