Job description

Position Summary

The Delivery Coordinator (Delco) is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of products and for communicating statuses and delivery plans to the Customer Service Representatives and the Delivery Assurance Manager. They are the main point of contact for internal customers. Pay Range is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct internal and external customer orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Respond to delivery related or product related inquiries as needed.
  • Direct communication with plant operations, shipping, and quality.
  • Daily engagement with the Delivery Assurance Manager to identify delivery risks, barriers, and delivery status.
  • Identify obstacles early, actively work to resolve impediments, and elevate when needed.
  • Identify and participate in resolution of process flow routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain delivery schedules to ensure timely completion (horse blankets, LOB, etc.) and communicate clear and timely status through tools to upstream customers.
  • Work closely with site operations to ensure stable workflow of orders, priorities, and stock management (e.g., stagnant WIP, work order issues, holds).
  • Direct communication with the Master Schedulers, Materials Managers, and Central Planning Manager.
  • Schedule production when required, using site scheduling tools and adhering to capacity and site limitations.
  • Work closely with master schedulers to ensure timely release and correct flow of production orders.
  • Participate in cross‑functional discussion in delivery clinics to identify root cause and prioritized corrective actions.
Key Deliverables
  • Update horse blanket past‑due items +4 weeks; eventually reduce to 8 weeks.
  • Reduce work orders, cut without a cut slip, and split work orders.
  • Put jobs on hold (details, hardware, tools, material).
  • Update coverage files and LOBs.
  • Update BP File/SPI File (Monthly Sales) weekly.
  • Update GTG File daily with root cause and current cause.
  • Identify critical parts and ensure they are indicated on the shop floor.
  • Visit the shop floor to touch jobs and work with supervisors and leads to ensure jobs are moving.
  • Obtain timelines for critical parts when requested by the CSR team.
  • Identify bottlenecks and issues and bring them up to daily OBEYA.
  • Handle internal company calls and update Lean DNA.
  • Scrap and replace process for internal customers.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or high‑school equivalency preferred.
  • Those without a high‑school diploma must complete a pre‑employment assessment to be considered.
  • Preferred: Background in manufacturing environment and a bachelor’s degree.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college in business, engineering, or materials management with a minimum of 4 years of customer service experience in aerospace manufacturing or a closely related industry.
  • Alternatively: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of customer service experience in aerospace manufacturing or a closely related industry.
  • Strong quality communication skills, ability to interpret oral, written, and diagrammatic information.
  • Excellent time‑management skills: well organized, able to prioritize, maintain focus, and follow through to end of projects.
  • Ability to build customer relationships and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Practical problem‑solving and decision‑making using analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Access software is desired.
  • Effective presentation skills; responsive to questions in one‑on‑one and group settings.
  • Knowledge of process flows, lead‑times, and lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of all production control functions and shop‑floor terminology and machinery.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection.
  • May occasionally lift or move up to 10–50 pounds.
