Job description

Join to apply for the Lead Delivery Consultant role at IBM.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in analyzing complex technical situations, anticipating potential problems and future trends, and assessing opportunities and risks while developing plans and creating solution deliverables for client contracts. As a team leader, the IBM Solution Architect guides other professionals and holds overall technical responsibility for the design, solution construction, implementation, and system integration of IBM B2B projects. The role requires extensive knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Candidates will gather facts through primary and secondary research, structured and unstructured interviews, surveys, etc., supporting specific engagements. They are responsible for designing, analyzing (customer, financial, operational), and presenting data. The role involves creating original work products with minimal supervision. Delivery Consultants apply consulting methodologies, key technologies, engagement support tools, and demonstrate strong knowledge of their area and industry. They establish relationships within client organizations and deliver high-quality, timely service.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Contributing to project success.
  • Managing scope and services according to the Statement of Work (SOW); escalating scope creep and issues.
  • Developing and maintaining client/partner relationships.
  • Creating, using, and sharing intellectual capital (reusable assets).
  • Applying best practices to improve results and efficiency.
  • Providing feedback to product management and development teams.
  • Supporting support during critical deployments.
  • Promoting quality processes, tools, and training among peers.
  • Suggesting operational efficiencies to management.

Required Technical and Professional Skills

  • Experience with IBM Sterling Data Exchange products: IBM Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, IBM Standards Processing Engine, IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender, IBM Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling External Authentication Server, IBM Control Center, Gentran, Connect Direct/Enterprise, IBM Partner Engagement Manager.
  • Knowledge of communication/data handling protocols and industry data standards.
  • Experience in application programming/scripting technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical staff.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with IBM WebSphere, Cognos, IBM Cloudant, IBM Cloud Paks, and Instana.
  • Experience with DevOps tools like Ansible, ArgoCD, Chef, Rancher.
  • Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift and deploying container applications.
  • Understanding of ERP systems.
