Job summary

National DCP, LLC (NDCP) is seeking a Delivery Assistant in Farmingdale, NY. You will assist the driver with unloading and delivering product to Dunkin stores using pallet jacks and hand trucks, and help organize stock in store areas.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate of $23.13 per hour, full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with match, plus paid time off and holidays. It provides opportunities for advancement across departments within NDCP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior mover helper/warehouse loading/unloading experience a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to follow simple directions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees and customers.
• Strong team player.
• Flexible to varying work schedules.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with delivery of product to Dunkin stores using pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Identify products on delivery truck under various lighting conditions.
• Learn product descriptions and box types for proper delivery at each location.
• Place stock into proper delivery zones (freezer, cooler, dry).
• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently.
• Promote safety by guiding the driver through parking lots and traffic areas.
• Navigate busy parking lots and intersections during delivery.
• Climb in/out of tractors and trailers repeatedly throughout the day.
• Safely operate lift gates on delivery vehicles.
• Assist the driver with other requests within safety and policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with the delivery of product into Dunkin stores using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and/or two-wheel hand truck. The product will be separated into freezer, cooler, dry, and chemicals.
• Assist the driver with identifying the product(s) on the delivery truck under various lighting conditions that may exist in the trailer or delivery truck.
• Learn product descriptions and box types to assist in the proper delivery of product at each location.
• Assist the driver in placing stock into the proper delivery zone in the store (freezer, cooler and dry).
• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently during the course of a day.
• Divert traffic to promote a safe working environment for the driver to back up into the store parking lot and delivery area. Guide the driver through parking lots.
• Navigate through busy parking lots and intersections while delivering product using a two-wheel hand truck, an electric or manual pallet jack.
• Climb in and out to the tractor and trailers repeatedly throughout the day.
• Safely operate the side and rear lift gates on the delivery vehicles.
• Assist the driver with any other requests within safety guidelines and/or company policy.
