Scheels All Sports is seeking a customer-focused retail associate in Meridian, Idaho. You will greet customers, assess needs, and promote products and Scheels Visa while delivering an above-and-beyond shopping experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, product knowledge, and consistent sales efforts. Expect hands-on training, visual merchandising support, and opportunities to advance within a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to learn Scheels' sales process and credit programs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile.
• Deliver exceptional service by identifying needs and recommending products.
• Grow personal sales by meeting goals and following Scheels' sales steps.
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products purchased.
• Maintain visual merchandising and assist with freight processing and stocking.
• Demonstrate product usage and retrieve items from heights (>6 ft).
• Attend product trainings and store meetings; assist in training new associates.
• Navigate a PC and handheld scanner; use Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and AS400.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
• Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
• Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
• Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
• Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
• Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
• Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
• Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months of sales experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
