Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in Meridian, ID is seeking a friendly, customer-focused associate to greet shoppers, understand their needs, and guide them through purchases.

You will promote Scheels Visa, hit sales targets, and maintain a visually appealing store environment while supporting stocking and training tasks. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of sales experience, with readiness to learn Scheels processes and participate in product trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 1–3 months sales experience preferred.
• Customer-service oriented with ability to engage shoppers and suggest products.
• Willingness to learn Scheels' sales process and product training.
• Ability to operate store systems and inventory tech as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor and provide a welcoming experience.
• Engage customers to assess needs, recommend products, and promote Scheels Visa.
• Meet personal sales goals and uphold Scheels' standards of service.
• Maintain visual merchandising quality and assist with freight and restocking.
• Operates PCs and handheld scanners; uses AS400, Office, and Docs as needed.
• Participate in product training and contribute to team store meetings.
• Assist in training new associates and support leadership in duties.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
• Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
• Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
• Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
• Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
• Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
• Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
• Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months of sales experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
