Job summary

Giant Eagle seeks an Assistant Deli Team Leader to support the Deli Team Leader with directing team members, ordering materials, and executing merchandising initiatives to drive growth and profitability.

Responsibilities include leading staff, maintaining safety and cleanliness per OSHA, controlling costs, planning merchandising, and managing inventories to meet customer needs and maximize profits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a deli leadership or related role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the Team Leader Development Program.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds and ability to work 18+.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership aligning with Company guiding principles and service values.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment complying with OSHA requirements.
• Control department costs by monitoring operations to improve profitability.
• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
• Prepare and track inventories and processes to calculate gross profits.
• Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering products.
• Schedule staff and delegate work to maximize store profits.
• Maintain accurate department records and documentation.
