Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Deli Team Leader to manage the entire Deli Team and ensure smooth operations. You will guide team members and guests on lunch options, school meals, and holiday platters, while maintaining professional representation of the organization.

The role focuses on leadership, performance accountability, and developing a respectful, diverse, and inclusive work environment with regular coaching and feedback to drive success.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation.
• Experience Desired: Retail leadership or supervisory experience; Peer Trainer/in-store champion or similar role; Satisfactory performance and discipline record.
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety.
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select and train Team Members.
• Direct the work of Team Members.
• Appraise Team Members’ productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status.
• Handle Team Member issues including complaints.
• Discipline Team Members.
• Plan the work and distribute it among Team Members.
• Provide for safety and security of Team Members and the store.
• Manage the budget for the department or location.
• Manage inventory for the department or location; monitor shrink and compliance.
• Oversee training to reduce turnover and improve efficiency.
• Motivate the team with respect and lead by example.
• Identify strengths and opportunities; schedule effectively.
• Develop future leaders and promote inclusivity.
• Maintain safety as the top priority.
