Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Deli Team Leader to support the Deli Team Leader by directing and managing Team Members, ordering raw materials, and implementing merchandising initiatives to grow the business.

This role requires 1–3 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of the Team Leader Development Program. It emphasizes leadership, operational excellence and cost control to maximize profits.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 1 to 3 years.
• Education desired: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification required: Completion of the Team Leader Development Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership that promotes the Company's Guiding Principles and Service Credos.
• Maintain a safe & clean environment to ensure health & OSHA requirements are met.
• Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives of the department.
• Prepare, maintain and track inventories and processes to calculate gross monthly profits.
• Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering products and supplies.
• Schedule employees and delegate work assignments effectively to maximize profits.
• Maintain accurate department records to ensure documentation of activities is available.
