Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Southington, CT is seeking a Deli Team Member to slice, package, and weigh deli products, while maintaining display cases and ensuring freshness to delight members.

You will provide friendly, helpful service at every member contact, follow safety and food-handling policies, and work as part of a team to keep the deli clean, well-stocked, and running smoothly.

This role offers weekly pay, benefits eligibility, and a path to grow within a purpose-driven team.

Qualifications

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides high level customer service to Members. Answers questions and recommends deli items.
• Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, including cheeses and meats. Helps Members select the correct products.
• Receives and inspects deli shipments. Displays, stocks, rotates, and stores deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards. Checks for out-of-date products daily and follows appropriate product salvage policies and procedures.
• Maintains deli display cases and rotates stock to ensure variety and visibility of items.
• Operates deli equipment safely and in accord with safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes deli equipment and surfaces; ensures proper weight and price labeling.
