Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
2. Ensures freshness and proper condition of merchandise in display cases, along with correct pricing and signage. Rotates products properly and handles spoiled or damaged items according to company standards.
3. Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences. Packages items with price, weight, and date stickers. Prepares ready-to-eat foods to order and creates platters of sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Uses knives and kitchen utensils safely.
4. Adheres to company recipes and safety policies when preparing foods such as chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other hot or cold items.
5. May operate cash registers, following policies to ensure proper money handling and compliance with laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales.
6. Maintains sanitation in the department by following cleaning schedules and health guidelines. Disposes of trash properly.
7. Assists with inventory control through proper handling, logging, and storage of products, minimizing losses.
8. May assist with baling cardboard and other duties if trained. Training provided.
9. May help with receiving and storing deliveries using proper equipment if trained. Training provided.
10. Ensures smooth department operation by cooperating with team members and supervisors. Continuously seeks to improve job performance.
11. Utilizes all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.
12. May assist other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To succeed, the associate must perform each duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

Education: Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED. No prior experience required.
