Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain well-stocked and appealing Deli service areas, greet customers, and assist with inquiries and concerns professionally.
2. Ensure merchandise freshness, proper display, and accurate signage. Rotate products and handle spoiled or near-expiry items according to standards.
3. Operate slicing equipment to prepare meats and cheeses, package items with correct labels, and prepare ready-to-eat foods and platters.
4. Follow recipes and safety policies when preparing various food items.
5. Possibly operate cash registers, handle money accurately, and comply with laws regarding tobacco and alcohol sales.
6. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following schedules and health regulations.
7. Assist with inventory control, proper product handling, and documentation.
8. Support other duties such as cardboard baling and receiving deliveries, if trained.
9. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and continuous performance improvement.
10. Use all provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE) properly.
11. Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not currently have supervisory duties.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; no prior experience required. Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations.
