Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

1. Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns politely and professionally.
2. Ensures freshness and proper condition of merchandise, handles spoiled or damaged products, and manages product rotation.
3. Operates slicing equipment, packages items, and prepares ready-to-eat foods and platters, using safe knife and utensil practices.
4. Follows recipes and safety policies when preparing foods like chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc.
5. May operate cash registers, handling money properly and complying with laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales.
6. Maintains sanitation, follows cleaning schedules, and ensures health and OSHA standards are met.
7. Assists in inventory control, handling products properly, and minimizing losses.
8. May assist with receiving and storing deliveries, operating necessary equipment.
9. Supports department and store functions through teamwork and continuous improvement.
10. Uses all provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves and safety cutters.
11. May assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform all duties satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; no prior experience required.
