Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other assigned tasks:

1. Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns professionally.
2. Ensures freshness of merchandise, proper pricing, and correct signage. Rotates products and handles spoiled or damaged items per company standards.
3. Operates slicing equipment to prepare meats and cheeses based on customer preferences. Packages items with appropriate labels.
4. Prepares ready-to-eat foods, platters, and handles knives and utensils safely.
5. Follows recipes and safety policies when preparing various food items.
6. May operate cash register, adhering to proper cash handling procedures and legal requirements for tobacco and alcohol sales.
7. Maintains sanitation standards, follows cleaning schedules, and disposes of trash properly.
8. Assists with inventory control, returning products to refrigeration, and keeping logs.
9. May assist with receiving and storing deliveries using proper equipment.
10. Ensures smooth department operation through cooperation with team members and continuous performance improvement.
11. Uses all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
12. May assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodations. Education or experience includes:

• High School Diploma or GED (or working towards it). No prior experience required.

RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS

The hourly pay starts at $16.00 and can go up to $24.00.
