Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring a Deli Clerk in Florida to assist customers with healthy meal choices and to prepare, package, and present deli items. You’ll maintain displays, handle special orders, and operate deli equipment while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent, reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A team-focused, customer-first attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly attitude with the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Operate deli equipment and slicer.
• Adhere to safety/health/Weighs and Measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals”.
• Providing high level of customer service and ensuring deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented, while keeping the deli area clean.
• Filling, maintaining, and rotating products and displays.
• Preparing special orders and party trays.
• Operating meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment per company standards.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment.
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
