Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Deli Department Lead to manage the profitability of the deli operation in line with company policy, combining food preparation and service.

Responsibilities include planning, prepping, ordering, inventory, training, scheduling, and ensuring products are high quality and presented appealingly while delivering friendly customer service. You will work with the Store Manager to meet labor, gross profit, and supply cost targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in deli operations preferred.
• Ability to train new employees.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares food for customers.
• Makes out orders and checks orders against receipt.
• Maintains a clean and organized kitchen to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Educates deli clerks on food preparation tips.
• Shops for food items for steam table and cases.
• Keeps inventory of kitchen items and returns items to proper storage.
• Coordinates scheduling and daily operations with supervisor guidance.
• Performs paperwork and tracks inventory, labor, gross profit, and costs.
• Ensures products are high quality and presented attractively.
