Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the department, direct team members, manage inventory and pricing integrity, and ensure efficient operations with attention to detail. This fast-paced role emphasizes driving results and delivering high-quality guest experiences.

As the Deli Manager, you will train staff, supervise CMS preparation and slicing across meats and cheeses, and uphold planogram standards while supporting a safe, engaging, and guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them with accurate and timely information
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests
• Manage order guides, ordering deadlines, and reduce shrink/damage
• Direct teams to handle, slice, and prepare department meats, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and via internal training platform to ensure excellent guest service in a safe manner

About the Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

The pay range for this position is $18.40 - $23.00 per hour

What You'll Do

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage

• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Availability

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

At a minimum, what you’ll need

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
