Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the team, manage department inventory, ensure pricing integrity, and train staff across deli operations. The role demands efficiency, accuracy, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

The position involves directing meat, cheese, and CMS preparation, maintaining stock rotation, and delivering outstanding guest service with attention to safety and quality. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality, or 5 years of related management experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information.
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests.
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage.
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and through internal training platforms.

About the Position:

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do:

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information

• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
