Job summary

The Fresh Market in Little Rock is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the deli team, oversee inventory and pricing integrity, and drive excellent guest service. The role demands efficiency, attention to detail, and a passion for exceptional results.

You will direct meat, cheese, and CMS preparation, train staff, and ensure daily operations run smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them with accurate and timely information.
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests.
• Manage order guides, ordering deadlines, and shrink/damage reduction.
• Properly receive/stock goods following rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and via internal training platform to provide excellent guest service safely.

About The Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information


• Making recommendations and accommodating requests


• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage


• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels


• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day


• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
