Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager in Charlotte, NC to lead deli team members, manage department inventory, maintain pricing integrity, and drive operational excellence. The role demands efficiency, attention to detail, and a passion for guest service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will supervise meat, cheese, and CMS preparation, train staff, and ensure safe, high-quality guest experiences while meeting company standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality, or 5 years in related management
• Ability to read planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods with rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and through internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

About the Position:

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do:

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
