Job summary

The Fresh Market in New York is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the deli team, oversee department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational tasks with precision. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, accuracy, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

You’ll direct teams in preparing meats, cheeses, and CMS items, ensure rotation standards, and coach staff on-the-job using internal training tools to deliver high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job as well as through internal training platform

About The Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
