• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve store goals.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in the appraisal process.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers’ requests using proper deli equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size.
• Recommend deli items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use deli equipment according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs.
• Inform associates about promotions.
• Stay current with ads.
• Assist Food Service Manager with budget, profit and loss reviews.
• Assist in planning, organizing and supervising inventory.
• Train on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
