Job summary

GLOBAL PARTNERS LP seeks a Food Service Associate/Deli Clerk to manage the deli and food service daily operations, ensuring sanitation, shop appearance and guest satisfaction. Duties include cash handling, product prep, slicing, stocking, and food preparation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires engaging customers, adhering to safety standards, and maintaining cleanliness across counters and prep areas. Flexible scheduling is needed to cover weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
• 2 years foodservice or retail management experience.
• Must have reliable transportation and an active driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Stand for long periods and frequently lift/move merchandise.
• Able to use knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries.

Responsibilities

• Process cash register transactions, giving back change and refunds.
• Learn to use register, scales, scanners and debit/credit terminals.
• Read UPC codes, product labels, shelf signage, and posted policies.
• Prepare, wrap, weigh, slice, and stock deli/food service items.
• The preparation and cooking of deli items, salads, sandwiches and beverages.
• Take guest orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the guest’s satisfaction.
• Display products following deli department and merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.
• Work safely around sharp slicers, tools and hot ovens and burners.
• Other duties assigned by Store Manager.
