Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a Deli Department Leader to drive outstanding customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will guide associates, meet department goals, and manage scheduling and inventory while upholding Kroger's core values of respect and integrity.

You will train staff, suggest sales promotions, monitor quality, and ensure adherence to safety and cost controls in a fast-paced on-site role in McFarland, Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math for daily calculations and inventory.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Current food handlers permit required once employed.
• Second language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
• Communicate department information to associates and management.
• Establish performance goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop schedules to manage customer volume.
• Train associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Create an inviting department environment and assist customers with questions.
• Inform customers of specials and offer product samples.
• Review products for quality and freshness; take action as needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
