Job summary

Price Rite Johnston is seeking a Deli Department Supervisor for a full-time role in Operations. You will lead the Deli and Perishable staff, drive sales, and maintain asset protection and presentation quality across the department.

The position requires English proficiency, basic math, physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and a flexible schedule including weekends. Prior deli/supervisory experience is preferred, with a high school diploma required and occasional travel to nearby stores.

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak English.
• Perform basic math, percentages and calculations.
• Understand and follow directions.
• Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift moderate-weighted product.
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds.
• Push/pull equipment loaded with product.
• Work a flexible schedule including daytime, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or lower.
• Prior deli and/or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to slice and prepare deli meats and cheeses for customers.
• High school diploma required, some college preferred.
• Ability to travel to nearby stores.

Responsibilities

• Direct, develop, and manage the Deli Department and Perishable staff.
• Maintain store conditions and presentation; protect company assets.
• Ensure sanitation, merchandising, payroll, data recording and compliance with policies and laws.
• Order, receive and inventory department products.
• Organize, clean and maintain coolers, freezers, cases and equipment.
• Stock, merchandise and sign department to enhance sales and presentation.
• Cut and prepare deli items; slice meats and cheeses for customer orders.
• Supervise, train and develop team members; communicate with management.
• Aim to achieve sales targets and shrink objectives; provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain company standards of cleanliness, freshness and friendliness.
• Follow security procedures and maintain required certifications.
