Job summary

Kroger in Troy, Michigan is seeking a Deli Department Supervisor to lead daily operations, deliver an outstanding customer experience, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help the store achieve sales and profitability goals.

You will train and develop associates, set performance targets, manage inventory, uphold food safety standards, and collaborate with store leadership to ensure great service and correct product preparation.

• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers’ requests using proper deli equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli items to meet customer needs.
• Operate deli equipment according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Educate associates about promotions.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Assist Food Service Manager with budgeting, P&L and inventory.
• Train on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures/logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report needs.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
