Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Deli Department Associate to support exceptional customer service and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment. You will assist customers with product questions, slice deli items, offer samples, and perform cashier duties to help achieve store goals.

Responsibilities include stocking, labeling, and ensuring proper temperatures and dating, while complying with health and safety regulations. 18+ and a current food handler permit are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Effective communication with customers and colleagues.
• Basic math including counting, addition and subtraction.
• Requirement of a current food handlers permit after employment.
• Must meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Create an welcoming environment by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of departmental products and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Offer samples and recommend products to customers.
• Inform customers of deli/bistro specials and suggest items to meet needs.
• Maintain clean, stocked displays and ensure proper temperatures and dates.
• Perform cashier functions and handle cash control and safety compliance.
• Adhere to all health, safety and labeling regulations and company guidelines.
