Job summary

River Market is seeking a Deli Cook to join the team and elevate our deli offerings. The role focuses on cooking large quantities, maintaining quality, and supporting daily department operations with customer service excellence.

Two shift options are available, with a union position and opportunities to advance within the department. This role emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and presentation in a bustling market environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be 18 years old to operate the slicer machine.
Acquires food handler certification within 30 days of hire.
Food service experience (2 years preferred).
Performs basic arithmetic including counting, addition and subtraction.
Computer literacy including but not limited to: MS Office-Outlook, Excel, Word.
Experience serving customers.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and maintain product quality and presentation.
Assist with inventory and merchandising activities.
Work with the team to create a positive shopping experience.
Cooks report to the Deli Manager; this is a union position.
