Position: Full-Time Deli / Salad Bar Cook

Location: North Reading, MA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm

Hourly Rate: $19.00-$20.00

Job Summary
The Deli / Salad Cook is responsible for all aspects of production for salads and sandwiches, including clean-up before, during, and after service. This role involves preparing sandwiches, salads, desserts for students and faculty, supporting kitchen cleanliness, and assisting in putting away orders. It serves as the first impression for all students and faculty, requiring accuracy, speed, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

Essential Functions and Key Tasks

• Preparing daily meals, including made-to-order deli/salad items and catering orders as needed.
• Chopping and slicing meats, cheese, and vegetables; cooking; making sandwiches and grab-and-go items.
• Preparing lunch and dinner stations according to company guidelines.
• Stocking stations with all necessary items for service.
• Baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
• Carving, trimming, and preparing meats and seafood for service.
• Ensuring the department is clean and presentable at all times and providing excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting, and thanking customers.
• Operating and sanitizing all equipment safely and properly.
• Supporting culinary staff at various stations as directed.
• Adhering to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards.

Deli Cook Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar deli position.

Must be dependable, neat, clean, professional, and possess excellent customer service skills. This is a front and back of the house position.
