Job summary

Concord Food Co-op in Concord, NH is seeking a deli team member to prepare and serve customers, keep cafe supplies stocked, and assist in keeping the deli area and kitchen clean.

You will provide friendly service, supervise the deli, coordinate with the kitchen manager on recipes and costs, portion and package items, ensure proper labeling and dating, and maintain sanitation and organization to deliver appealing products to shoppers.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• One year of deli experience required.
• ServSafe certification a plus.
• Ability to maintain sanitation per store policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service, including samples, questions, and suggestions.
• Supervise deli department, including delegation of tasks.
• Coordinate with kitchen manager for recipe creation and cost.
• Prepare, portion, and package products.
• Ensure proper labeling, dating and storage of prepared foods.
• Maintain attractive, stocked, rotated, and appetizing prepared food cases.
• Record and document all case temperatures at shift start and end.
• Coordinate orders with kitchen manager and set weekly specials.
• Chop, slice, and cut food items with accuracy and precision.

A pillar of Main St., the Co-op strives to support and enhance the New Hampshire community by only stocking ethically-sourced natural foods and through positive cooperative action in-store and in the community.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service to include offering samples, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Supervise deli department including delegation of tasks.
• Coordinate with kitchen manager for recipe creation & cost.
• Prepare, portion, and package product(s).
• Ensure proper labeling, dating and storage of prepared food items
• Ensure that the prepared food cases are clean, stocked, rotated, garnished, and appealing to customers.
• Accurately record and document all case temperatures at beginning and end of each shift.
• Coordinate orders with kitchen manager.
• Set weekly specials with kitchen manager.
• Chopping, slicing, and cutting of food items with accuracy and precision

Additional Duties

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

• Works with guidance from Department Manager
• Performs a variety of tasks as dictated by department demands
• Standing for long periods, bending, walking, reaching, and sitting
• Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. on a limited basis

Experience and Educational Requirements

• There are no educational requirements
• One year of deli experience required
• ServSafe certified a plus.

Other Qualifications

• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards
• Compliance with all personnel policies
