Are you passionate about food service, cooking, and providing customers (guests!) with delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We are seeking a Deli Clerk to play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service in our retail grocery environment.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Provide Helpful Service: Deliver excellent guest service through friendly greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and care, making a positive impact daily.
• Guest Assistance: Help guests locate items and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
• Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
• Customer Service: Address and resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
• Quality Control: Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish deli products to uphold high standards.
• Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels and supplies in the deli.
• Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining safety logs and adhering to safety standards.
• Efficiency: Meet quality standards and quantity expectations by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
• Honor Commitments: Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide notice for absences.
• Support the Team: Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed, you should be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following qualities are desirable:

• Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication.

• Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety policies, including proper use of slicers, lifting techniques, etc.
• Food Knowledge: Knowledge of retail food operations and merchandising, with the ability to make effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Full upper body motion.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Schedule:

This full-time position requires a varied schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
