Safeway in Soldotna, Alaska is seeking a Deli Clerk to prepare fresh foods, help customers choose deli meats, cheeses, and grab-and-go items, and keep the counter inviting and efficient.

You will stock, display, monitor freshness, and work in a fast-paced environment. Prior food service or customer service is a plus; availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare fresh deli items and assist customers with selections, ensuring a friendly, efficient experience.
• Slice meats, assemble items, and portion with accuracy for grab‑and‑go orders.
• Stock and clean displays, rotate products, and maintain overall department organization.
• Monitor product freshness and temperature; ensure proper labeling and dating.
• Take orders and assist teammates to manage busy periods and peak times.
• Operate equipment safely and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
