Safeway in Alaska is seeking a Deli Clerk to prepare fresh foods and provide friendly service. You will help customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and grab-and-go items while maintaining a clean, welcoming department.

The role involves stocking, displaying, and monitoring product freshness throughout the day, with attention to labeling, pricing, and efficient service in a fast-paced environment. Prior food service or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold deli items and assist customers with selections
• Stock and rotate displays, ensure freshness and accurate labeling
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area and equipment
• Process transactions and assist with end-of-day closeout
