Job summary

Tops is seeking a reliable deli clerk in our neighborhood store to help store, prepare and maintain deli products while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities include following safety regulations, stocking and rotating products, operating the cash register, and following recipes and packaging instructions under the Deli Manager. Candidates must be at least 18 and able to read, write, perform basic math, and use basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to enter/work on the deli side of the department
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding prepared food operations, safety, and sanitation
• Provide attentive and courteous customer service by fulfilling customer questions about prepared foods products
• Maintain a clean as you go policy to ensure sanitary conditions at all times
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
• Maintain proper shelf, cooler, and case conditions, such as stocking, cleaning, and rotating product
• Follow all store Shrink guidelines with regard to keeping track of all discards
• Ensure proper temperatures and working condition of cases (hot and cold) as well as maintaining all equipment
• Complete all necessary paperwork
• Follow direction from the Deli Manager, perform tasks as assigned
