Job summary

Safeway in Spokane Valley is seeking a Deli Clerk to prepare fresh foods and provide a welcoming customer experience. You will help customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and grab‑and‑go items while keeping the counter friendly and efficient.

You'll also keep the department stocked, clean, and safe, monitor freshness and temps, and assist with slicing, labeling, and transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare deli items and grab‑and‑go options
• Assist customers with selections and fulfill orders
