Job summary

Knowlans Super Markets Inc is seeking a Deli Clerk to support the deli manager and ensure accurate price markings, replenish products, and rotate merchandise according to store policies.

You will provide friendly customer service, assist in building displays for sales and handle sandwich and salad prep as directed while maintaining cleanliness and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma helpful, but not necessary.
• Previous experience in deli or retail is not required but helpful.
• Basic ability to operate in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in a friendly, courteous and honest manner.
• Assist in price marking, replenishment and rotation of perishable items.
• Help build store displays for maximum sales and turnover.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area and equipment.
• Prepare and merchandise deli items such as sandwiches and salads as directed.

Job description

Basic Purpose: To provide support to the deli manager by ensuring accurately displayed price markings, replenishing product supplies and properly rotating merchandise according to store policies and procedures.Major Responsibilities:Provide customer service through friendly, courteous, fair and honest treatment of all customers. Maintain service levels on sales floor.Assist in building store displays for maximum sales and turnover. Possess knowledge of department product mix, including, but not limited to, variety, taste, and preparation of items.Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking to ensure product/quality integrity.Maintain cleanliness of department by executing day-to-day tasks of dishwashing, floor care, and counter sanitation procedures.Maintain refrigerated coolers, store shelves and other displays according to tag allocation, product movement and department standards.Prepare, package, and merchandise sandwiches, party trays, salads, chicken, hot foods etc. as directed.Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the Company’s dress policy.Follow all Company policies and procedures.Maintain perishable merchandise by rotating product in accordance with store policy and product code dates; pull all out-of-code merchandise.Other duties as assigned.Physical Demands and Environment:The position of deli clerk requires standing, reaching, stopping, kneeling, bending, push and pull movements during the majority of a shift. Occasional lifting up to 50lbs is required. Deli clerks should be physically able to perform all jobs/tasks associated with all aspects of store operations.The majority of tasks will be performed within the confines of the store, with some tasks being outdoors and in temperature controlled rooms within the store.Minimum Requirements for Position:Education: High diploma helpful, but not necessary.Experience: Previous experience helpful, but not necessary.Computer Experience: N/A
