Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing excellent customer service in our popular Deli department. Responsibilities include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting customers with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have an outgoing, friendly attitude and positive behavior to interact effectively with customers.
• Be flexible to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. over short distances, and stand for up to 4 hours continuously.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitization of the work area.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Follow safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
